4. Texas Mahjong
Introduction
Introducing a new game innovation combining East (mahjong) and West (poker) in Texas Mahjong.
Mahjong (or “má jiàng” in Chinese pinyin) is a four-player game that originated in China
and became popular throughout Asia.
Poker originated in the West and is widely popular. Like its precedent, Texas Mahjong requires skill, strategy,
calculation, and luck.

** “Joker” as a wild tiles. It can be used as a substitute to represent any other tiles. The uniqueness of the Joker tiles is to further enhance the speed and thrill of the game.
2. Getting Started
1.1 Signed Up / Register
Texas Mahjong is available only for registered players. Please ensure to have a registered account to play.
1.2 Nickname:
Once a player is registered, the next step is to create your own unique nickname that will be displayed on the game interface.
Nickname is permanent and non-editable.
1.3 Game Tables and Buy-in
Players can play Texas Mahjong, by selecting the preferred table that is available.
Each table has its minimum buy-in to be able to sit in the game. During the gameplay, the buy-in amount will increase or decrease, it is advisable for players to always ensure to have sufficient balance when playing.
1.4 Dealer, Small Blind, Big Blind
The system will randomly pick one player as Dealer. Next to the Dealer is the Small Blind and followed by the Big Blind player.
The Small Blind and Big Blind bet amount is pre-set for each room. Hence, to participate in the game round, all players must match the bet to the Big Blind bet amount.
3. How to Play Texas Mahjong
The goal of the game is to complete the set on the player’s hand with the highest possible tiles combinations as fast as possible.
1. Select the table for the player to join with at least min. buy-in amount.
2. The game starts with 4 mahjong tiles distributed to players that sit on the table to play.
3. The system will randomly pick one player as Dealer. Next sit to Dealer (clockwise) is Small Blind player followed by Big Blind player.
To participate in the game, players must;
- Follow the big blind bet amount (Call),
- Increase the blind amount (Raise),
- Sit out and do not participate in the game round (Fold).
All the matched bets with Big Blind will be put in the Winning pot. Should the player decide to fold, the Big Blind bet will be forfeited from the player’s balance. The forfeited amount will be put in the winning pot.
4. Once players match the bet with the Big Blind (call), the 5th tiles is distributed to players. Players then to form the combination tiles to win.
During the process to form the best-winning tiles combination, Players are given a stipulated time to pick a tile to be discarded and time to decide to;
- Increase the bet (Raise),
- Increase the bet with all the balance buy-in (All in),
- Follow the increased bet (Call),
- Sit out / quit the game round (fold),
- Remain the same/pass on betting (check).
** Joker tiles cannot be discarded.
** All-in player exempt from further betting the game. Bet amount that exceeds other players' All-In bet will be accumulated in the “Side Pot”.
The number of side pots in a round will be less than the total number of players in the game round.
Example: In the game round there is 4 total players, and the maximum pot is 3 (1 main winning pot and 2 side pots).
5. This process will continue until the game round ends. The game ends when there is a winner or more than one winner in the game round, or when there are insufficient tiles to continue the game.
- The game round ended with a winner - The winner will get the winning pot after the rake deduction.
- The game round ended with more than one winner – The Winning pot will be split equally by the number of winners.
The winning amount is after the rake deduction.
- The game round ended with insufficient tiles – The game is considered a draw, all bets return to the player after rake deduction.
- The game round ended with no winner - The game is considered a draw, all bets return to the player after rake deduction.

4. Tournaments
There are two category of tournament :
1. Cash Tournament - Players participate in tournaments with own cash buys-in
2. Mission Tournament - Player must meet pre-requisite to be able to join the tournament.
Type of tournaments:
(a) Sit and Go Tournament
(b) Scheduled Tournament
To enter the tournament, players need to pay the tournament host fee.
(a) Sit and Go Tournament
The minimum number of players to start the tournament is six based on predetermined by pre-determined no. players.
The tournament will begin anytime once the required numbers of members are in.
(b) Scheduled Tournament
The players need to register to participate prior to the tournament begin.
The minimum number of players to start the tournament is pre-determined by the tournament organizer.
Tournament will begin at the pre-determined time by the tournament organizer.

Buy-In | An amount of money or chips that a player needs to have to be able to join a table or game round. The base currency for Texas Mahjong is RMB. For players with different currencies, there will be a conversion to RMB to join the table game. Example: Player A , Balance MYR 100,- Minimum Buy-In = RMB100.00, FX rate is 1MYR=2 RMB. After Min. Buy in Player A Balance MYR50,- and Buy in Balance RMB100,- |
Dealer | At the start of the game the system will indicate one of the players as a dealer by throwing a dice. The game will start in a clockwise manner starting from the left of the dealer. |

Sit | Available sit for player to join the game round. |
Sit out Next Game | Player still remain at the seat but not participating in the next round. If player misses any blinds while sitting out, player will have to pay a penalty equivalent to the total blinds missed before playing the next round. |

Joker Tiles | A tile which can be used to represent any tiles. A Joker tile can turn a pair into three-of-a-kind, form a pair with any tile, or complete a run. |

Side Pot | In a multi-way pot, side pot is created for other players if one &/or more players goes All-In. Example: Player A bets $10, Player B calls the $10, and Player C calls, but he has only $8 left. $4 side pot is created that either Player A or Player B can win, but not Player 3. However Player C, can still win all the money in the "center" main pot. |
Rake | A small percentage amount of money taken out from each pot and given to the house in return for hosting the game. |
